The New York Asian Film Festival and its parent nonprofit, the New York Asian Film Foundation, are New York based organizations focused on exhibiting and celebrating Asian cinema. Through the annual NYAFF and year-round programming, they present premieres and a carefully curated slate that foregrounds Asian and diasporic voices, providing audiences with contextual viewing experiences. The foundation operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building bridges between Asia and the United States. NYAFF began in 2002 and has collaborated with Film at Lincoln Center since 2010, establishing itself as a leading platform for Asian cinema in North America. The organization serves film enthusiasts, artists, press, and buyers who seek access to premieres and festival circuits, while contributing to a renewed pipeline of talent and stories. In 2024, the foundation announced Nicholas Tse as the recipient of the Screen International Star Asia Award.
