The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a state government agency created in 2012 to modernize IT services and improve governmental efficiency for citizens and businesses through technology. It provides statewide IT strategic direction, policy, and centralized products and services to support the state's mission. ITS operates data centers around the clock and maintains a secure network with more than 1,600 miles of fiber to deliver telecommunications, Internet, intranet, and email services, along with training, data storage, and processing for state entities. It supports over 50 state agencies and manages extensive accounts and devices, including more than 14 million citizen accounts, about 150,000 employee accounts, 60,000 phones, 99,000 desktops and laptops, and 3,433 Virtual Desktop remote connections. Based in Albany, New York, ITS develops new services and innovative applications to support citizens, businesses, and state agencies.
