Mission: Operate and maintain a reliable, user-fee supported transportation system. Vision: Deliver safe, convenient, and high-quality service across a vital corridor that supports New York’s economy—modernizing to meet evolving customer and partner needs responsibly. About Us: The Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway, built in the 1950s, is one of the nation’s longest toll roads and a pioneer in modern highway design. Spanning 570 miles with 815 bridges and 27 service areas, it connects New York’s major cities, rural communities, and tourist destinations. One-third of Thruway traffic comes from out of state, underscoring its regional importance. The Thruway includes I-87, I-90, I-95, I-287, I-190, and more. In 2020, it transitioned to a fully cashless tolling system, enhancing efficiency and convenience for millions of travelers.
