Newmarket Public Library, located in Newmarket, Ontario, functions as a community hub for learning, exploration and dialogue beyond traditional books. The collections total more than 175,000 items, including books in multiple formats, magazines, DVDs, video games, audiobooks, and access to online databases and e-books, with membership offered at no charge. Facilities include internet and Wi-Fi access, public computers, meeting and study rooms, and a MakerHub offering fabrication equipment. It provides a range of services aimed at broad participation, including home access to online catalogues, downloadable audiobooks and e-books, an interlibrary loan program, and information services along with an art collection. In 2020, the library partnered with Southlake Regional Health Centre to co-develop a hospital-ready face shield prototype through its MakerHub, illustrating collaboration with external organizations.
