In 2011, Tim Ranzetta volunteered to teach a personal finance course to high schoolers in East Palo Alto, CA and spent countless hours searching for resources and cobbling together his curriculum. He felt there had to be a be a better way: a place teachers could easily find ready-to-implement resources, enabling them to plan less and teach more. In 2014, Tim met Jessica Endlich, at the time a high school principal in the New York City DOE, and together they founded Next Gen Personal Finance as a non-profit organization. Their mission was to connect educators with free resources and equip students with the knowledge and skills to lead financially successful and fulfilling lives. Since then, over 51,000 teachers in schools serving 75% of U.S. high schoolers, have signed up for NGPF's platform. Teachers use NGPF as a one-stop shop for free curriculum, free professional development sessions, and free advocacy & support. This fast-growing community of educators emboldened the team at NGPF to launch Mission 2030, whereby every high schooler will take at least one semester course in personal finance before crossing the graduation stage by the year 2030.
