The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District is a government entity that addresses water-related issues in our area for the benefit of all – we are one of 33 designated watershed districts and watershed management organizations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District was established under the Minnesota Watershed District Act in 1959. Our district is named for Nine Mile Creek. We cover the land area draining to Nine Mile Creek – about 50 square miles of the southwestern Twin Cities. Portions of the cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Richfield are located within the Nine Mile Creek watershed.
