MedcomSoft Record is an electronic medical record system designed to be fully interoperable with other healthcare systems and clinical devices. It provides HL7-standard interfaces and includes a built-in practice management module that covers patient scheduling, billing, and collections. The system aligns with Stage 1 Meaningful Use objectives, enabling physicians to qualify for incentive payments for implementation starting in late 2010, and is already used by hundreds of physicians in the United States. The company is a mid-sized software development firm based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with assets acquired by PBFOnline in the first quarter of 2009 and a relocation of its headquarters under new ownership. CEO Shawn Long has overseen workforce expansion and the development of a network to support delivery, installation, and training of the EMR for physicians nationwide.
