The Northeast-Midwest Institute is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization based in Washington, DC, with a small footprint in the think-tank landscape. Founded in the mid-1970s, it pursues a mission to promote economic vitality, environmental quality, and regional equity across 18 states in the Northeast and Midwest.
