The Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) is a regional trade association serving the homebuilding and remodeling community in Northern Virginia, based in Chantilly. Established in 1936, NVBIA pursues four core objectives: advocating for the construction industry at local, state, and national levels; educating members through certified and non-certified classes and seminars; creating networking opportunities to foster business relationships; and supporting the broader community. As part of its advocacy and professional network, NVBIA is affiliated with the Home Building Association of Virginia and the National Association of Home Builders to advance housing affordability and new home development in the region. The organization conducts seminars and classes on topics related to home building, including green building, market trends, financing, and sales and marketing. It hosts various networking events that bring builders and associates together, and its committees, councils, and chapters—covering Arlington/Alexandria/Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William—facilitate collaboration within the industry. NVBIA also supports the community through HomeAid National Capital Region, which renovates shelters and transitional housing for homeless families, and participated in a 2026 partnership to launch the NOVA Housing Supply Framework with regional partners.
