NOW GmbH is a Berlin-based, federally owned think tank focused on advancing sustainable mobility in Germany. Its work is aligned with the nation’s climate targets and comprises assignments from top federal authorities to implement and coordinate funding programs, shape strategic stakeholder processes, foster international cooperation, and promote acceptance of alternative technologies, with a portfolio that now encompasses hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries and LNG across propulsion and infrastructure, including the National Charging Infrastructure Control Center established in 2019. The company traces its origins to the National Innovation Program for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) in 2008, and its portfolio has broadened as clean mobility powered by renewable energy has gained prominence. Based in Berlin, NOW is described as a mid-sized organization operating within the think-tank space. In June 2026, NOW planned to participate in the 5th HyLand Symposium on June 16, 2026, an event hosted by the Federal Ministry of Transport and organized by NOW.
