Nuclear AMRC is a UK-based research services organization located in Sheffield, England s60 5wg United Kingdom, with 51-200 employees. It was established in 2009 to help UK companies win work in the nuclear sector. The centre operates across nuclear new build, operations, decommissioning and technology development, and it also engages in other high-value low-carbon manufacturing industries. Its manufacturing innovation capabilities are available to all UK manufacturers—from specialist SMEs to top-tier OEMs—and its engineers work with companies to develop techniques and optimized processes for large-scale high-precision manufacturing. It offers supply chain development support and runs the Fit For Nuclear programme (launched in 2011) as a diagnostic tool to measure operations against industry requirements and drive improvements. Nuclear AMRC is owned by the University of Sheffield and is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, a national network of seven specialist research centres; in 2024 it received EPSRC funding for an international project addressing cyber security for critical infrastructure.
