NuVista Federal Credit Union which was orginally Montrose Federal Credit Union was established in1964. It was built on honesty, integrity and self worth. We hold that same foundation today. When first opened the credit union was for federal employees only. Times have changed and we know now that the support of the community as a whole is what helps us to thrive. We changed our name on January 1, 2008 to reflect our growth in membership, and our coverage area that is not limited to just Montrose. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Gunnison, Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel Counties. The awesome thing about us is that we’re owned by you! Everyone who puts their opening shared secured amount of $25 dollars in an account is part owner of the credit union. What does that mean?
