In 2010, Oakes Auto was founded in Merriam, KS by Dan Oakes.  It quickly grew into one of the largest independent car dealerships in the Kansas City area. Oakes Auto was founded with the belief that all people deserve to be treated with respect and kindness when purchasing a vehicle. 

In December of 2018, we purchased a Kia franchise in North Kansas City, MO, and relaunched it as Oakes Kia. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Oakes Kia was one of 40 dealers in the US to receive the prestigious Presidents Club award.

And in August of 2023, we added Oakes GMC in downtown Kansas City, MO. Across from the Oakes GMC location, Oakes Auto Collision Center was also added.
