The Oakland Community Land Trust (OakCLT) was founded in 2009 with the purpose of combating community deterioration and expanding permanently affordable housing and economic development opportunities for low-income residents of Oakland, California. We remove land, housing, and other community serving real estate assets from the recurrently turbulent market and hold them in permanent trust with low-income Oakland residents.  OakCLT also supports the development of commercial and retail facilities that are preserve cultural value and directly serve the community. We strive to foster leadership through a responsible and informed board of residents and community members.
