OASIS is a nonprofit, member-driven standards organization based in Woburn, Massachusetts. It provides a pathway to standardization and formal approval for references used in international policy and procurement, through projects that can include open source efforts. Projects operate independently under industry-approved processes and IPR policies. Its membership is global, spanning more than 100 countries and including multinational companies, SMEs, government agencies, universities, research institutions, consulting groups, and individuals. By offering a neutral governance framework, OASIS enables collaboration to develop interoperable standards that may become ISO, IEC, or ITU standards and inform policy and procurement decisions.
