Occupational Safety Training Institute (OSTI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Reno, NV. Formed in 2006 we now have a ten year successful track record of providing quality hands-on training for safety professionals. OSTI also provides safety awareness training for new as well as the seasoned employees. Under an agreement with several colleges, OSTIs professionally prepared curriculum, course graduates may apply for college credit and continuing education units (CEUs) towards their selected degree. Over the last few years OSTI has recognized a need to assist our displaced* veterans. Therefore, OSTI has developed a program to assist our nation’s forgotten heroes. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) estimates, there are 39,471 veterans “temporary displaced” on any given night. Our objective is to transition these veterans and other screened individuals to a level of self-sufficiency by providing both housing and educational and eventually employment opportunities. What OSTI envisions is not a typical “homeless assistance” program. Our program will initially provide housing, clothing, food, education, and entertainment in a unique residential and commercial community. Professionals instructors will be experienced and passionate in conveying their own firsthand knowledge to each student in their chosen field; while employed in an actual REAL WORLD fully functional environment. OSTI plans to offer programs in an environment unlike any other, designed to provide not only academic learning but practical experience.
