The Ocean Healing Group is a non-profit (510c3) foundation, dedicated to providing once in a lifetime, adaptive sports adventures, to wheelchair bound youngsters and their parents. Ocean Healing Group was first started in 2007 by Frank Bauer and paralyzed professional surfer Christiaan Bailey. It is based in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and held in coordination with Shaka Beach Retreat; It's our mission to expose our disabled youngsters to a wide variety of sports and activities, things they would never have the opportunity to experience otherwise...Including, but not limited to Surfing, Snorkling, Fishing, Zip-Line Tours, Quad Riding Nature Tours and Horseback Riding. The "JAWS" or Just Add Water Surfing is the flagship program of the Ocean Healing Group. Specifically geared and customized for individuals with spinal cord injuries, the JAWS program is free of cost to it's participants. Spread over the course of 8-10 days, we engage our kids in a wide variety of fun and exciting activities. Helping them to break down the personal and physical barriers, while building up their self confidence so they can expand the bounds of possibility for themselves...It's all about helping them to carve the "Dis" out of Disability!
