Ocean Ridge Biosciences (ORB) is a South Florida-based contract research laboratory supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide through innovative RNA and protein-based biomarker discovery services. ORB is headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, near the geographic center of a rapidly developing South Florida Life Science Cluster and have served hundreds of academic and corporate researchers on basic research, preclinical and retrospective clinical trials. 

ORB’s focuses on provision of bioassays and bioinformatics in five key areas: circulating small RNA, exosome characterization, microbiome RNA and DNA sequencing, multiplex immunoassays, and DNA polymorphism analysis. The company's vision is to utilize these information-rich assays for development of reliable multi-analyte companion diagnostic tests that are released to the market along with its client's new drugs. To that end, the company has recently partnered with Boca Biolistics Clinical Reference Laboratory on research use multiplex immunoassays intended for companion diagnostics discovery. The partnership has developed a validated 35-plex cytokine/ chemokine immunoassay that is performed in Boca Bio's CAP-accredited laboratory.

In addition to commercial services, ORB has continually participated in and supported innovative biomedical research at major institutions. The company’s services are mentioned in over 90 published scientific articles. ORB has engaged in research collaborations with several academic institutes focused on biomarker discovery in disease areas such as neurodegeneration, cardiovascular disease, and emphysema. Our partners on these projects have included research groups at Emory University, Roosevelt Hospital in New York, and the University of Miami. ORB is currently collaborating on development of biomarker sets relevant to PD-1 immunotherapies with potential research and diagnostic applications for advanced melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma.
