The Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) is a small unit within the Department of Energy's Office of Science, based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It collects, preserves, and disseminates the scientific and technical information produced by DOE research and development. It also provides public access to scholarly publications resulting from DOE-funded work and oversees the DOE STI collection through the DOE Scientific and Technical Information Program (STIP). OSTI serves DOE researchers, other government agencies, and the wider public seeking access to DOE funded science and technology information. The office has developed and maintained public access initiatives, including the DOE PAGES program launched in 2014, reflecting its role in open access and information management within DOE.
