The Office of the State Controller of Idaho is a government administration agency that serves as the chief fiscal officer for the state of Idaho. It is one of seven statewide elected constitutional officers in Idaho's executive branch and is elected to a four-year term. The office is located at 700 West State Street in Boise, Idaho. Its responsibilities include maintaining all accounting and financial records, paying the state's bills and employees, preparing the annual financial report, and operating the state's Computer Service Center. In 1994, a constitutional amendment renamed the State Auditor position to State Controller and authorized statewide internal pre-audit accounting controls while transferring post-audit functions to the Legislative Services Office to separate accounting from auditing. The office employs between 51 and 200 people.
