The Ohio Department of Aging is a state government agency based in Columbus, Ohio, focused on the well-being of older residents. It works with other state agencies and community partners, including area agencies on aging, to incorporate aging needs into local planning and to ensure that aging Ohioans have access to a broad range of high-quality, person-centered services and supports. The department administers programs such as the PASSPORT Medicaid waiver, caregiver support, the long-term care ombudsman program, and the Golden Buckeye Card, among others. Operating within the government administration sector, the department serves aging Ohioans and their families by coordinating services with state and community actors. In 2025, AGE, in collaboration with the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education, began accepting applications for the Scholars in Aging Program, reflecting ongoing efforts to support aging-related education and policy.
