The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF) is a nonprofit organization established to serve Ohio as a catalyst for statewide suicide prevention efforts. It does not deliver direct services to individuals but acts as a resource for professionals and agencies, supporting community-based initiatives that aim to reduce stigma, increase education and awareness, and expand resources to lower the risk of suicide. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the foundation emphasizes shifting attitudes toward mental illness, addiction, and related issues, while coordinating and stewarding prevention efforts across the state. Since its founding in 2005, OSPF has collaborated with state partners to develop planning and campaigns intended to strengthen the regional capacity to prevent suicides. In addition to its ongoing advocacy and program support, the organization has launched initiatives such as the First Step Fund and employer-focused toolkits, and has partnered with educational and public health entities to advance suicide prevention awareness.
