In Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) acts as the voluntary professional association for dentists and has done so since 1867. It represents more than 10,000 dentists—roughly nine in ten practicing in the province—and functions as Ontario’s primary source of information on oral health and the dental profession. The organization advocates on behalf of its members, promotes high standards of dental care, and collaborates with government, the private sector and other health-care professionals to shape public policy and support the well-being of both practitioners and patients. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the ODA operates as a mid-sized nonprofit organization serving Ontario's dental community. It not only informs the public about oral health but also provides programs, services and products to support dentists in leading the oral health care team. In 2026, the association announced its Annual Spring Meeting 2026, to be held May 7–9 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, underscoring its role as a forum for education, innovation and professional exchange.
