Opengear focuses on secure, resilient access and automation for critical IT infrastructure, aiming to keep management capabilities available even when the network is down. Its offerings cover provisioning, orchestration, and remote management of network devices through a combination of software and hardware appliances, enabling technical teams to operate data centers and remote network locations with greater reliability and efficiency. The company’s solutions support business continuity for organizations across financial services, digital communications, retail, and manufacturing sectors.

Headquartered in Edison, New Jersey, with research and development facilities in Silicon Valley and Brisbane, Opengear sits within the computer networking products field. It has been part of Digi International since a 2019 acquisition, with Digi maintaining the New Jersey base and expanding the footprint to manufacturing in Utah, development in Australia, and sales offices across Europe and Asia. In January 2026, Opengear announced two additions to its Network Resilience Platform, the CM8000 Series and the OM1300 Series.
