Ophtec is a mid-sized medical equipment manufacturer based in Groningen, Netherlands, specializing in ophthalmology. Founded in 1983, its origins lie in the drive to translate Prof. Dr. Jan Worst's intraocular research into tools for clinicians and patients, guided by the involvement of Mrs. Anneke Van Dam-Worst. The company works closely with ophthalmologists to develop intraocular lenses and related solutions aimed at restoring natural vision for people around the world. Its portfolio centers on intraocular lenses and related eye-surgery devices, including presbyopia-correcting and toric options used by eye surgeons in clinics and hospitals. In December 2023, Ophtec announced the launch of the Precizon Go line, featuring a hybrid acrylic IOL and a version designed for enhanced intermediate vision.
