OCOM is a professional graduate school in Portland focused on acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It offers specialized degrees, including Master of Acupuncture, the MACM/DACM dual degree, and the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, with an emphasis on collaboration between Chinese medicine and Western biomedicine. The college operates a teaching clinic where student interns provide low-cost treatments under supervision, aiming to improve access to care in the community. Since its founding in 1983, OCOM has graduated more than 1,450 students and, collectively, its alumni practice across all 50 states and six other countries, with an estimated 10 million patient visits. In 2012, the campus and teaching clinic were relocated within Portland, reflecting its long-standing community engagement. In 2022, OCOM formed a partnership with Fora Health to expand its treatment programs.
