Orion Publishing Group is a United Kingdom–based publisher of books and periodicals. Founded in 1991, it built its core through the acquisition of Weidenfeld & Nicolson and later expanded by incorporating imprints from Cassell and Gollancz and by acquiring a distribution center in Sussex. Since 1998 it has operated as part of Hachette Livre, becoming the largest component of Hachette UK when the group was formed in 2004. Recent years have included acquisitions such as Girls with Gems and a series of leadership and editorial appointments in 2025–26. In April 2026 Orion joined with Hodder & Stoughton to launch a joint internship program, reflecting ongoing collaboration within the UK publishing ecosystem.
