The Orthodox Union Advocacy Center is the non-partisan public policy arm of the Orthodox Union, representing about 1,000 congregations nationwide and directing the OU's advocacy work in Washington, DC and state capitals. It works to influence laws and programs to support Orthodox Jewish individuals and institutions, and to promote the community's interests and values in public policy. Based in Washington, DC, the center connects with major Orthodox umbrella organizations to coordinate a broader policy voice. The center pursues programs addressing the affordability of Jewish day school education, trains community leaders to advocate on critical issues, and convenes Orthodox Jewish leaders to discuss strategies, while supporting a National Leadership Mission to Washington, DC and a Legislative Fellowship Program to cultivate future policymakers. In January 2025, it launched the Emerging Career Professionals department, with Proops as its director.
