It was founded in 1958 by the Xaverian Brothers at the invitation of Cardinal O'Boyle, originally serving as a boys' high school and transitioning to coeducation in 1988. The school aims to prepare students with diverse learning abilities through programs that pursue academic excellence, service to others, and holistic growth, guided by the Xaverian values of humility, trust, zeal, compassion, and simplicity. Operating in the private education landscape, it functions as a mid-sized high school focused on inclusion and the development of spiritual, emotional, and social dimensions. Recent developments include the recognition as a Project Lead The Way Distinguished School in 2023 and the appointment of John Ciccone as the school's fourth president.
