Overbrook School for the Blind, founded in 1832, is a Philadelphia-based educational institution serving students who are blind, visually impaired, or face related challenges. It sits on a historic 26-acre campus in the Overbrook Farms area of West Philadelphia, where students study, play, and, in some cases, live in integrated facilities adapted to meet multiple needs. The school educates about 180 students on campus, ages 3 through 21, and operates an Early Intervention Outreach program that supports around 190 families with children from birth to age three, while its International Program trains teachers in Southeast Asia.

Its staff includes a range of specialists in visual impairment, including Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments and a related services team providing occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy, orientation and mobility, counseling, and more. Each student receives an individualized educational program tailored to their needs, with instruction aligned to Pennsylvania core standards and the Expanded Core Curriculum for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities. The school uses a combination of low and high tech assistive technology to support learning, and its educators engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to conferences, reflecting a commitment to advancing education for visual impairment.
