Charles Ovitsky started this practice more than 30 years ago because he recognized that a certain group of people were being underserved by the optometric community. Older patients and other residents of long term care facilities were frequently ignored or exploited by practitioners who were in business for the wrong reasons. Too often, the needs being served were those of the practitioners or their joint venture partners, rather than the needs of the patients. In 1983 Dr. Charles S. Ovitsky decided to focus on this special group in order to fill an obvious void. From the very beginning, he set out to provide not just top-notch eye care for his patients, but eye care combined with compassion and respect for the patient. It’s why the word “care” is so important in our name.
