Owen Equipment Company operates in the environmental services sector, providing equipment and support for sewer cleaning, hydro excavation, and street sweeping. Its roots go back to 1958 when it started as Ben-Ko-Matic, a broom-manufacturing equipment firm; it later expanded to produce and sell brooms directly and, over time, became a dealer for Elgin in 1982 and for Vactor in 1995.

The company runs four full-service locations in Portland, Oregon; Kent, Washington; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Fairfield, California, serving a western U.S. population of more than 21 million. Owen oversees a field fleet of over 1,500 units, supported by a factory-trained team that provides service, parts, training, and ongoing customer assistance. It is the largest supplier in the western U.S. for replacement brushes and brooms across sweeping equipment, and in July 2024 announced a partnership with WaveCel LLC.
