PADI AWARE Foundation is an accredited global charity focused on ocean conservation. It mobilizes divers and the broader public to take actions that protect and restore marine ecosystems, aiming to balance human activity with ocean health both above and below the surface. The organization addresses threats such as climate change, habitat loss, and vulnerable species by coordinating underwater citizen science, public policy engagement, education, and community grants.
Based in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, the non-profit engages a community of divers and ocean advocates to advance its mission. In 2023, it partnered with Blancpain SA to launch the Global Shark & Ray Census, a global citizen science effort to monitor shark and ray populations.
