The Pala Band of Mission Indians is a tribal government entity based in Pala, California, in northern San Diego County. The tribe administers a 12,000-acre reservation established for Cupeno and Luiseno peoples and is guided by a Chairman and Executive Committee focused on economic development. It pursues a diversified portfolio of gaming and non-gaming enterprises intended to support the community. It runs a casino resort, a dirt-bike raceway, a shooting range, a non-commercial radio station, a fitness center, and a skate park, along with cultural centers and education programs aimed at community development. Its environmental and cultural initiatives seek to protect natural resources and preserve traditions while engaging residents in education and cultural programs. A recent development includes a collaboration with Prosper Sustainably LLC to create an online Extreme Heat edition of the Tribal Climate Health Project's Exposures, Impacts, and Strategies Inventory tool.
