Palmetto Primary Care Physicians is the largest independent multi-specialty group practice in South Carolina, comprised of more than 90 clinical providers delivering primary and specialty care. Headquartered in Charleston, it operates 30 physician offices across four counties and supports patient care with a sizable workforce of clinical and non-clinical staff. Founded in 1996, PPCP has a history of patient-centered care and was among the first in the nation to establish a Patient Centered Medical Home program, the first in the state to do so. The organization offers urgent care, imaging, diagnostics, and laboratory services as part of its broader care continuum. In March 2026, PPCP was acquired by the Medical University of South Carolina.
