Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine, a venture of Pastoral Enterprises, LLC, is a European-inspired neighborhood cheese, specialty food and wine shop offering the highest quality, cut-to-order domestic and international specialty cheeses, freshly baked breads, perfectly chosen accompaniments and small production wines, along with hand-crafted, cheese loving beers.

Over time we have become known for our unique and delicious sandwiches, salads, artisan catering trays and beautiful gift baskets, all using the highest quality ingredients we sell in our store. Pastoral also provides cheese to some of Chicago’s finest restaurants for their cheese plates and culinary creations.

We first opened our doors in August of 2004 in Chicago’s East Lakeview neighborhood and subsequently opened our second location on Lake Street in Chicago’s bustling Loop in 2007. Our third location opened with the Chicago French Market in 2009.  In the fall of 2012, we expanded our business with Bar Pastoral, a cheese and wine bistro located adjacent to our flagship Lakeview store, where you can sample from our curated list of fine wines, nibble on exquisite cheese plates and enjoy home-made, cheese-centric hot food.  With our commitment to providing the highest level of service and education to our customers, we strive to make shopping for and consuming these artisan goods enlightening, approachable, fun and delicious!
