Pathfinders for Autism is a Maryland-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves as a central information hub for families and professionals affected by autism. As a state-wide initiative, it aims to improve access to information and resources, raise autism awareness, support earlier detection and intervention, and develop lifelong supports for individuals with autism and their families. The organization places emphasis on training professionals such as first responders, educators, and community service providers to better assist those on the spectrum. Founded in 2000 by B.J. Surhoff, Polly Winde Surhoff, and other parents, Pathfinders is based in Luthvle Timon, Maryland, and has engaged in partnerships with local authorities, including a driver-safety program for drivers with autism and IDD.
