Patriot Guard Riders is a nationwide, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing dignified memorials for fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans. As a federally registered 501(c)(3) organization, it operates entirely through volunteer participation and conducts missions at funeral services as invited guests of the families. The group's core objective is twofold: to express sincere respect for the deceased and their loved ones, and to shield mourners from interruptions by protesters, using lawful, non-violent means.
The organization emphasizes inclusivity and respect, noting participation is open to people from diverse backgrounds without requirements related to veteran status or political beliefs; respect is the guiding prerequisite. It coordinates with families and communities to ensure ceremonies proceed with dignity, focusing on dignified memorials and a disruption-free environment. A recent development is a collaboration with Wreaths Across America to broaden awareness of their shared missions.
