We are a multidisciplinary Geriatric & Adult Psychiatry group with NJ's largest Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Psychiatric consultation practice and 3 outpatient offices (in Cedar Knolls [Morris County], Raritan near the “Somerville Circle” [Somerset County], and Springfield [Union County]. Our team are also leading experts in practicing Psychiatry within “skilled nursing and subacute rehabilitation” settings, and we make regular rounds in a number of locations in our community. Through our sister company Pelorus TMS, we are now offering TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) in our Cedar Knolls and Raritan offices. TMS is a non-medication based, FDA-cleared treatment service for Depression, which is covered by all major insurance plans. Matthew Barnas, MD, FAPA is Medical Director and CEO of our group, he has been practicing medicine for 17 years. Dr. Barnas is Board Certified in Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry, and completed his Geriatric training at Yale University. He completed TMS training at Duke University. His training at Yale included practicing in skilled nursing facilities, and becoming proficient in the federal rules and regulations. Dr. Barnas is on the medical staff at both Overlook and Morristown Medical Centers. Additionally, he is appointed on the volunteer teaching faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at both Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
