PETROJET, officially the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company, is a state-owned joint-stock construction firm and the largest in Egypt’s market. Established in 1975, it operates as an integrated engineering, procurement and construction contractor, serving the oil, gas, petrochemical, infrastructure and industrial sectors across Egypt, the Middle East and Africa. Based in New Cairo, Egypt, the company maintains a sizeable workforce, a modern fleet of equipment, and uses advanced technology to support its projects. Its ownership comprises the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) with 97%, Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (ENPPI) with 2%, and a workers’ social services fund with 1%. It is recognized as a major EPC contractor in the MEA region, and in 2026 it led a consortium with Arkad S.p.A. to undertake a development project in Algeria valued at approximately $1.1 billion.
