The Philbrook Museum of Art is a mid-sized cultural institution based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, rooted in a historic home donated by the Phillips family in 1938. Its permanent collection includes Renaissance and Baroque paintings from the Kress Foundation, a substantial survey of Native American art, and growing holdings in modern and contemporary work. The institution operates a 25-acre main campus that combines the historic residence with a contemporary museum complex and maintains a downtown Tulsa satellite dedicated to modern and contemporary art as well as the Eugene B. Adkins Collection and Study Center of Native American art. In February 2026, Philbrook announced the launch of a new special exhibition, Killing the Negative: A Conversation in Art & Verse. The museum serves visitors and scholars by presenting art spanning historical periods and Native American art across its campuses, supported by research resources at the Adkins Center. Through this combination of historic architecture, expanded collections, and public programming, Philbrook is positioned among leading central U.S. art institutions.
