The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) is a community supported, locally focused 501(c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and restore the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont, while building stronger, more sustainable communities.

PEC empowers residents to protect what makes the Piedmont a wonderful place, and works with citizens to conserve land, protect air and water quality, celebrate historic resources, build smart transportation networks, promote sustainable energy choices, restore wildlife habitat and improve people’s access to nature.

Headquartered in Warrenton, VA, we have offices throughout a nine county Piedmont region that includes Albemarle, Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties.
