Founded in 1973, the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Placer SPCA) offers programs and services that benefit the animals and people of Placer County. Placer SPCA is the largest and most comprehensive non-profit animal welfare provider in Placer County, housing up to 4,000 homeless and abandoned animals each year. Our mission is to enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond. Our services include adoptions, lost and found, low-cost spay and neuter assistance, free behavior advice, emergency financial assistance, humane education, and volunteer opportunities.
