PLAID collaborative is a multilayered design studio passionate about creating beautiful, comfortable, and sustainable places.  We are designers, thinkers, researchers, storytellers, artists, and technicians.  Our team consists of skilled collaborators with a wealth of expertise, and considerable local, national, and international experience.

OUR CRAFT

PLAID offers planning, landscape architecture, and industrial design services.  Our portfolio features a diversity of projects, from comprehensive master plans to themed outdoor spaces to custom site furnishings.  Our approach infuses art and science with site, locale, and program to achieve sensible, innovative, and timeless projects.

We listen, research, and learn.  Our curiosity propels us to investigate the broadest views and the smallest nuances.  We measure and analyze, and vigorously generate design concepts expressed with drawings, sketches, renderings, and models.  We review, debate, refine, and advance ideas into tangible solutions.

At the end of the day we are realists.  We know how to transition design concepts into accurate and technologically current construction documents.  We understand budgets and schedules, and possess the tenacity necessary to get projects built.  We are fully engaged during construction via communication, observation, and documentation.
