Plasti-Fab, Inc. was established in 1957 from an existing company called Plasti-Print, in a small building on John R Drive in Hazel Park, MI. The name was changed to Plasti-Fab, Inc. to better represent the plastic fabricating capabilities that continue to be perfected today - laminating, heat sealing, die cutting, and printing. At that time, there were only four employees and three regular clients.

In 1987, Richard Melin purchased the business from the founders. By that time, the company’s workforce had grown to eight employees. Soon after, a permanent screen-printing department was established to better meet their production needs. Continued growth over the years hastened several moves into larger buildings until settling in at the current 15,000 square foot facility on Hilton Road in Ferndale, MI in 1999.

Since 1999, Plasti-Fab, Inc. has expanded to introduce new methods of production and products, as well as improving the old, including completely self-contained graphics and screen print departments; larger capacity laminating and heat-sealing equipment; flexographic and digital printing capabilities; and an expanded die cutting area. 

Today, the Plasti-Fab, Inc. family includes over 30 full-time employees, and a growing number of clients. We are always looking to improve our products and processes to stay current with modern technology and the needs of our clients.
