The Pledge 1% movement was seeded by Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, who committed 1% of Salesforce’s product, time, and equity (dubbed the 1-1-1 model) to be a force for good and attract aligned employees. Scott Farquhar, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Atlassian, added 1% of profit to the concept to round out what eventually became the Pledge 1% flexible framework for giving.

On Giving Tuesday 2014, Atlassian and Salesforce challenged 500 companies to Pledge 1% by Giving Tuesday 2015, spearheading a global movement that is now 19,000 companies strong.
