Polaris was acquired by Motorola Solutions. The company has two R&D centres in Kolkata, India. Polaris’ business is currently divided into providing software solutions in two broad categories, A) 4G & 5G Test & Measurement solutions, and B) 4G & 5G Deployment solutions. A) 4G & 5G Test & Measurement solutions Polaris provides a range of solutions that enables verification of functions and measurement of performance of various elements that comprise 4G & 5G networks. Test solutions from Polaris are tightly integrated into research, development and QA processes of semi-conductor companies and equipment vendors, operators and independent test and research labs. B) 4G & 5G Deployment solutions Polaris provides a comprehensive implementation of the core network elements for 4G and 5G. This implementation is based on 3GPP specifications and also includes proprietary extensions to support use cases related to private LTE networks. The Polaris LTE Packet Core is deployed in networks of Tier 2/3 mobile network operators, internet service providers, government agencies related to public safety and defence, companies in the energy (mining, oil exploration) and logistics (shipping) industry.
