Polytechnic West is a professional training and coaching provider based in Perth, Western Australia. It now forms South Metropolitan TAFE in partnership with Challenger Institute, creating one of Western Australia’s most diverse training networks. SMT operates major campuses across Bentley, Carlisle, Fremantle, Murdoch, Rockingham, Thornlie and Mandurah.

South Metropolitan TAFE offers more than 500 qualifications, spanning foundation courses and apprenticeships to associate degrees, and serves more than 50,000 students across its campuses. In March 2026 SMT announced a global collaboration with City College Plymouth, reflecting its expanding partnerships beyond Western Australia.
