Powerlink Queensland is a government-owned corporation in the utilities sector that owns, develops, operates, and maintains Queensland's high-voltage electricity transmission network. The network spans about 1,700 kilometres from Cairns to the Queensland–New South Wales border and comprises roughly 15,559 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 154 substations. Powerlink operates as a Transmission Network Service Provider and links to the National Electricity Market via the Queensland/NSW Interconnector, with most of its network regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator under the National Electricity Law and Rules.
