Pow I-80 is a countywide economic development organization established in July 2004, by officials from Poweshiek County, the cities of Brooklyn, Grinnell, and Montezuma, and leaders of local business and industry. Its purpose is to enhance Poweshiek County and the lives of its residents through economic development activities. Pow I-80 coordinates all economic development efforts in Poweshiek County, serving as a first point of contact for business prospects, coordinating business development throughout the county, developing contacts at the state and federal levels of government, and enhancing the business community as a whole. Pow I-80 is committed to strengthening existing and new industrial and commercial businesses in Poweshiek County. It serves as a liason with governmental, educational and regulatory entities, assists with application for available funds, generates support for the business community throughout the county, and encourages communication and cooperation among businesses and business leaders.
